The Cheonggang center for history and culture of Korean Medicine

Introduction to Cheonggang Center for History and Culture of Korean Medicine
This center was named after the pen name of Kim Young-hoon (1992-1974), who served as a modern Korean Medicine doctor in the Korean Imperial Palace and have been deeply involved in the establishment of Kyung Hee University Korean Medical School. The medical records created by Kim Young-hoon were donated by the former Brazilian Ambassador, Kim Ki-soo, which was designated as National Registered Cultural Property No.503 in 2012 and National Archive No.7 in 2013.
As the donor’s successors donated 140,000 pyeong (462809.917㎡) of land to Kyunghee University to promote and develop Korean Medicine at Kyung Hee University, the Cheonggang Center for History and Culture of Korean Medicine has been established to promote the research activities of Cheonggang Kim Young-hoon and related history, and to spread research on Korean Medicine culture.
The center was established to exclusively discover and research content regarding liberal arts related Korean medicine research and in the long term, the center strives to expand its value to not only clinical and experimental research but also to liberal arts and cultural studies.

· Activities to understand the life of Cheonggang Kim Young-hoon and its medical historical value· Researches to establish the identity of Korean Medicine in the world’s traditional medicine market · Researches to promote humanistic and cultural values of Korean Medicine to globalize Korean Medicine· Researches to enhance the value of Korean Medicine from a cultural anthropological perspective· Researches to promote the status and value of Korean Medicine in national health care· Researches to promote the value of royal medicinal studies and activities in Korea
· Other liberal arts studies to enhance the status of Korean medicine
