Intro Based on Korean Medicine, academic exchanges with fields of advanced science technology(6T; IT, BT, NT, ET, ST, CT 등) and humanities/social sciences/arts are promoted to develop an integrative medicine that encompasses researches in basic/clinic/application/policy, transcending the boundaries of academic divisions. We aim to cultivate students with creativity and ability for integration to lead the medical system of the next generation.
What we do

The department of Convergence Korean Medical Science has been constructed as an interdisciplinary research for the goal of Korean Medicine based inter-/multi-disciplinary research and education. While maintaining the main identity of principles of Korean Medicine, it strives for scientization and for scientized Korean Medical information to cooperate with latest scientific technology/humanities/social studies/arts, ultimately pursuing convergence/integrative medicine that can flexibly deal with changes in medical environment in the future, through

1) Scientization with Identity of Korean Medical Theory
-To increase lifespan of people, conducting pan-disciplinary research. Conditions that directly affect quality of life such as malignant tumor, cardiovascular disease, intractable neurological disease(Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis), intractable skin disease(atopy etc), menopausal disorder(osteoporosis, etc), metabolism disorder(diabetes, etc) are approached in terms of Korean Medical diagnosis, safety, efficacy, and mechanism research of treatment techniques.

2) Interdisciplinary convergence/integrative research
-Through pan-disciplinary convergence research of the above- mentioned conditions, we develop new diagnostic methods, convergence diagnostic methods and treatment methods along with mechanism research
-Development of convergence/integrated diagnostic system for above-mentioned conditions


3) Development and education of pan-disciplinary program to actively respond to changes in future medical environment
Prospects 1) New discipline development and improvment of KM through KM-based pan-disciplinary convergence/integrative research
2) Basic research data collection of convergence/integrative medicine through pan-disciplinary convergence/integrative research
3) New generation medical system establishment based on KM
4) Cultivation of convergence/integrative experts that will lead the new generation medical system
5) Cultivation of competence for active response to changes in future medical environment
